⢠Partner with subject-matter experts across portfolio companies to turn functional specifications into agentic system designs ⢠Design agent architectures, including boundaries, orchestration, control flow, tools, state, memory, human-in-the-loop placement, and deterministic logic ⢠Build, ship, and operate production agentic systems running real business functions end to end ⢠Extend and harden the in-house orchestration framework ⢠Improve automated development and QA agents in the engineering pipeline ⢠Create and maintain machine-readable context artifacts for products, customers, processes, and operational data ⢠Design retrieval and context-assembly strategies and manage context budgets ⢠Integrate agentic systems with codebases, CRMs, ERPs, support desks, data warehouses, and internal services ⢠Define success criteria and build evaluation harnesses, baselines, regression suites, and human-review sampling ⢠Instrument production systems with tracing and observability ⢠Build guardrails, fallbacks, retries, circuit breakers, approval gates, audit trails, and rollback paths ⢠Track token and tool costs and design sustainable unit economics at full volume ⢠Monitor evaluation trends, cost curves, and failure patterns in production ⢠Investigate and resolve regressions, incidents, and quality drift ⢠Evolve deployed systems as business processes change ⢠Ramp into unfamiliar production codebases and extend them safely ⢠Extract reusable components, patterns, and abstractions across functions and companies ⢠Evaluate emerging models, frameworks, techniques, and tooling against real workloads ⢠Define responsible autonomous-operation practices for data exposure, IP protection, security, and human review ⢠Review agentic work and raise technical standards ⢠Explain system behavior, limits, and intent to engineers and operators ⢠Retire ineffective systems and document the rationale
⢠Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience ⢠Strong body of shipped systems may fully substitute for a degree ⢠8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and operating production systems ⢠3+ years building AI-Native or agentic systems that reached production and were used for real work ⢠Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of designing, building, shipping, operating, and improving systems ⢠Experience integrating AI systems with production codebases, CRMs, ERPs, support and ticketing systems, data warehouses, and internal services ⢠Experience with authentication, permissioning, and autonomous-system controls ⢠Experience designing and running evaluations for non-deterministic systems ⢠Experience building evaluation harnesses, establishing baselines, and detecting regressions ⢠Experience operating LLM-based systems in production, including tracing, failure diagnosis, guardrails, and cost management at volume ⢠Experience becoming productive quickly inside large, complex unfamiliar codebases ⢠Experience working from specifications set by domain experts ⢠Experience with platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling work ⢠People management experience is not required or advantageous ⢠Ownership, autonomy, intellectual honesty, judgment, adaptability, cross-expertise collaboration, communication, disciplined curiosity, and high standards
