📋 Description

• Design, architect, and implement robust, scalable distributed systems powering Jitterbit's SaaS platform • Design and implement high-performance, fault-tolerant connector integrations and adapters for mission-critical business workflows • Architect distributed microservices using cloud-native design patterns for multi-tenant SaaS environments • Build and optimize data pipelines using REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, and webhooks across synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven patterns • Drive technical decisions on critical subsystems and contribute to RFCs and architectural reviews • Mentor junior engineers on system design principles • Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing and own operational health and observability • Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and SRE teams to deliver features, resolve production incidents, and improve platform reliability • Champion code reviews, testing strategies, security hardening, and performance optimization • Contribute to platform infrastructure and developer experience initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years designing and building large-scale, distributed backend systems handling high throughput and low latency requirements • 5+ years working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures in production • Deep understanding of tenant isolation, rate-limiting, and resource management • Proven ability to drive system design and participate in architectural decisions • Experience mentoring engineers on design patterns and best practices • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills • Experience diagnosing complex production issues in distributed systems • Deep experience with microservices architecture, service decomposition, API design, and inter-service communication patterns • Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure • Familiarity with Kubernetes and serverless patterns • Strong foundation in SOLID principles, design patterns, system design, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing strategies • Expert-level Java 8+ with OOP, concurrency, performance tuning, memory management, Spring Boot, Guava, and Netty • Expertise in REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, HTTP semantics, caching, rate limiting, and error handling • Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar message brokers/event streaming platforms • Understanding of at-least-once delivery, dead-letter queues, and stream processing • Strong SQL, query optimization, and indexing skills • Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and consistency trade-offs • Proficiency with Docker and production experience with Kubernetes or container runtimes • Advanced Git workflows and experience with GitHub or similar platforms • Working knowledge of GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools • Ability to write build pipelines, deployment scripts, and infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools • Comfortable with the Linux command line • Understanding of memory allocation, processes, file systems, and networking • Experience with ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Zipkin, or similar observability tools • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively in a distributed, remote team • Self-driven and able to work on key initiatives • Ability to make data-driven decisions
