📋 Description

• Direct and supervise mechanical crews, contractors, and technicians on-site for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems • Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering plans to ensure proper installation and compliance with design intent • Conduct on-site inspections of mechanical work, including systems testing, commissioning, and performance verification • Ensure work meets local building, mechanical, and fire codes and environmental regulations • Coordinate permit approvals and regulatory inspections with local authorities and inspection agencies • Prepare progress reports, inspection reports, and status updates for project management and clients • Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and ensure OSHA compliance in mechanical work areas • Identify and resolve mechanical system issues, design conflicts, and installation challenges • Coordinate and oversee mechanical subcontractors, ensuring work quality and schedule adherence • Maintain records of inspections, tests, warranties, and as-built conditions • Participate in system startup, testing, and commissioning activities • Communicate with building owners, facility managers, and end users regarding mechanical systems operation

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of mechanical supervision experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional projects • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems design and installation • Commissioning experience preferred • Thorough knowledge of local mechanical codes, building codes, and inspection requirements • Proven ability to prepare clear, detailed reports for various stakeholders • Experience conducting field inspections and quality control activities • Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and manage multiple mechanical contractors • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent technical education preferred • Associate Engineer License (at minimum) preferred • Professional licenses such as PE or contractor's license are a bonus • Experience with BIM/3D modeling coordination preferred
