📋 Description

• Maintain responsiveness and availability during scheduled working hours • Identify potential issues and resolve them independently when appropriate • Communicate task status, priorities, availability, and challenges • Fine-tune and expand the firm's training playbook • Follow security protocols and prevent information security risks • Support trauma-informed legal assistance for clients • Handle sensitive client and case information confidentially • Track deadlines and ensure timely task completion • Draft professional letters and legal correspondence • Maintain and manage calendars • Schedule motion hearings • Follow firm procedures, training materials, and internal playbook • Support the attorney with day-to-day case management and administrative needs • Assist with light billing tasks • Maintain organized case information and documentation • Remind and hold the attorney accountable for deadlines, appointments, and commitments • Draft and file motions and other legal documents • Monitor Connecticut judicial websites • Obtain records and follow up on outstanding records requests

🎯 Requirements

• Working hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST • Some flexibility in working hours may be available • Experience working in a law firm is preferred • Experience with civil litigation, education law, employment law, human rights, personal injury, or crime victim matters is beneficial • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus, but Spanish is not mandatory • Strong English communication skills and a clear, easy-to-understand accent are required • Comfortable handling highly sensitive, confidential, and potentially explicit legal information • Comfortable with exposure to post-trauma conversations, sensitive evidence, and matters involving victims of sexual abuse and other serious crimes • Understand that the work may involve vicarious trauma • Strong awareness of confidentiality, information security, and data protection • Willing to use additional security measures such as a virtual machine if required • Highly reliable and responsive during working hours • Comfortable being transparent about availability, workload, and task progress • Strong judgment when handling confidential information and communications • Strong numerical skills are beneficial for occasional billing responsibilities • Required software: PracticePanther, WildX, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Excel • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Strong attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong understanding of deadlines and prioritization • Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information • Empathetic and patient in sensitive situations • Trauma-informed and respectful approach to client interactions • Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making abilities • Proactive mindset • Strong follow-through and accountability • Comfortable keeping an attorney organized and accountable • Tech savvy and attentive to information security practices • Adaptable and willing to learn new processes and systems • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously • Comfortable assisting with billing-related tasks • Ability to work collaboratively and independently • Strong commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics • Application documents must be in English • Resume must be submitted in .DOC format
