📋 Description
• Assist providers with accurately identifying and documenting healthcare services provided to patients • Review inpatient medical records within 24-48 hours of admission • Evaluate documentation to assign principal diagnosis, relevant secondary diagnoses, and procedures for DRG assignment • Formulate queries when missing, conflicting, or unclear documentation is identified • Provide ongoing education to physicians and healthcare providers on clinical documentation improvement • Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to resolve queries prior to discharge • Maintain confidentiality of all information acquired
🎯 Requirements
• Currently hold the required CDI certification (CCDS or CDIP) • Must hold a Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or a Multistate License • Minimum of 3 years RN work experience (BSN strongly preferred) • Previous clinical skills with an understanding of Anatomy and Physiology • Ability to analyze clinical information using documentation as the primary driver for overall System Case Mix Index
