📋 Description
• Review inpatient medical records for completeness and accuracy • Communicate with physicians and healthcare staff for documentation purposes • Conduct initial concurrent reviews and ongoing re-reviews of admissions • Collaborate with HIM coders to assure documentation accuracy • Educate staff about severity of illness and risk of mortality documentation • Analyze data and share findings with the healthcare team • Monitor compliance and track progress of clinical documentation improvement program
🎯 Requirements
• Associates Degree in Health Information Management or related field • Certification in RHIT or RHIA along with CCDS or CDIP • Requires 3 or more years of experience in an acute care setting • Nurses must have an associate degree and 3+ years of experience • Understanding of clinical documentation and coding processes
