📋 Description

• Produce verbatim transcripts from audio, including noises and cross talk • Follow annotation guidelines while maintaining high fidelity to spoken content • Translate transcribed content from the native language into natural, fluent English • Preserve meaning, tone, and cultural nuance • Review and correct transcripts or translations for accuracy and completeness • Provide structured feedback on linguistic issues • Potentially perform transcription and translation together from audio through English translation • Complete onboarding and payment setup after selection and testing

🎯 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Chichewa/Nyanja target language(s) • Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience • Prior experience with spoken language transcription is a strong advantage • Reliable availability and commitment • Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week • CV must be submitted in English • Ability to complete a project-specific test if required • Contractors cannot be engaged in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions • Contractors are responsible for their own tax obligations
