📋 Description

• Work with existing Chichewa audio recordings for a multilingual speech-to-text project focused on African languages • Identify and tag personal information (PII) in audio content • Mark background sounds and non-speech events according to provided guidelines • Review and correct automatically generated Chichewa transcripts against audio • Ensure high fidelity to spoken content, including noises and cross talk • Review finished transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to guidelines • Correct errors and provide structured feedback on linguistic issues • Contribute to AI and language technology development • Complete onboarding and payment setup after selection and any required evaluation

🎯 Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Chichewa • Strong listening skills and close attention to detail • Prior experience with spoken language transcription or linguistic annotation is a strong advantage • Background in linguistics, language studies, or translation is a plus • Good-quality headphones and a quiet place to work • Availability for around 20–30 hours per week over the 2–3 month project period • Reliable availability and commitment to on-time delivery • Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week • Updated CV in English • Must pass an evaluation if required • Must be able to work as a 1099 independent contractor and handle own tax obligations • Geographic restrictions may apply due to international embargoes or sanctions
