📋 Description

• Bring accounting in house from the outsourced provider and run the finance function daily rather than monthly • Maintain daily books in QuickBooks for the US and Zoho Books for India, including transaction categorization, bank-feed clearing, and reconciliations • Publish daily cash positions across both entities and currencies and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast • Maintain a continuously queryable ledger with consistent chart of accounts, naming, tagging, and no uncategorized or suspense items • Run budget-versus-actual reporting for MDF and similar partner-funded programs, tracking budgets, purchase orders, invoices, payments, claims, and reimbursements • Collect PO approvals, vendor invoices, and proof-of-performance documentation • Manage revenue collection, invoice against SOW milestones, follow up on outstanding receivables, and report risks to the founders • Take over records, access, and opening balances from the current provider and establish reliable accounting processes • Recognize revenue on fixed-fee, fixed-date SOWs and account for performance obligations and variable consideration • Handle AWS partner economics, marketplace disbursements, MAP funding claims, rebates, co-sell incentives, and sales compensation accruals • Own the compliance calendar for India and the US, manage external CPA and CA firms, reconcile intercompany accounts, and maintain transfer-pricing support • Prepare and initiate payments for founder review and approval • Report to the founders and operate independently

🎯 Requirements

• Chartered Accountant, India, with at least 3 years of professional experience after articleship • Full ownership of a complete close, from open items through financial statements signed off • Strong follow-through on timely transaction categorization, receivables collection, and PO documentation • Ability to chase colleagues for documentation and customers for payments without unnecessary escalation • Experience with budget-versus-actual reporting against fixed program budgets, with commitments tracked separately from incurred costs • Comfort managing two ledgers and two currencies and keeping them reconciled • Judgment to work without a controller, including knowing when to involve an external CPA or founder and escalating early • Availability from 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm IST • Clear written English • Preferred: US CPA or progress toward it; the employer will sponsor remaining exams and fees • Preferred: daily or weekly close experience • Preferred: rolling cash forecast experience • Preferred: ASC 606 or Ind AS 115 experience with services revenue • Preferred: experience with US-India two-entity structures, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing • Preferred: cloud partner program accounting for AWS, Azure, or GCP, including marketplace settlements, MDF/MAP claims, and rebates • Preferred: restricted-fund or grant accounting • Preferred: close automation experience
