📋 Description

• Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria before development and identify ambiguities and edge cases • Design, document, and maintain traceable test cases and test plans • Conduct structured exploratory testing and report findings beyond scripted paths • Own manual regression scope based on release risk • Triage production issues by reproducing, isolating, assigning severity, escalating, and verifying fixes • Design and produce complex test data involving multiple roles, permission levels, states, and high document volume • Validate permission hierarchies and tenant-level data isolation • Write reproducible defect reports with steps, evidence, and environment details • Report quality status and residual risk to stakeholders for release decisions • Partner with automation engineers to hand off stabilized cases and align automated coverage with business priorities

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software quality assurance experience • At least 3 years testing complex, business-critical web applications • Strong command of equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, and state transition testing • Demonstrated experience with disciplined exploratory testing • Experience triaging production issues and distinguishing technical severity from business priority • Experience designing test data for multiple roles, permissions, and states • Working knowledge of SQL • Experience validating APIs with Postman or an equivalent tool • Proficiency with Jira and a test management tool such as TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or equivalent • Excellent written and spoken English • Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban • Ability to collaborate across time zones with overlap with United States Pacific business hours • Ability to communicate technical risk in terms of business consequences • Candidates must currently live in Mexico or Latin America • Bonus: Ability to read, run, and interpret automated suites using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium • Bonus: Experience testing document-heavy or highly configurable SaaS platforms • Bonus: Experience in regulated industries such as legal, healthcare, or financial services • Bonus: Familiarity with audit trails, access controls, and data retention requirements • Bonus: ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent formal training in test design • Bonus: Experience with WCAG accessibility testing • Bonus: Experience using AI-assisted tools to draft test cases or summarize exploratory sessions
