📋 Description

• Perform DBA activities remotely with customers around the world • Automate various DBA tasks • Set up monitoring and other activities on customer servers • Perform periodic health checks and reports on customer systems • Participate in the community through blogging and social media • Help build tools and enhancements around MariaDB • Improve practices and common methodologies for the Remote DBA team • Manage SkySQL customers across cloud environments • Provide coverage during designated schedules • Work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays for 24x7x365 customer coverage • Collaborate with a globally distributed virtual team using email, Slack, web, SSH, and similar technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with MariaDB/MySQL and surrounding tools • Knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization • Knowledge of database design, administration, development or architecture • Understanding of high availability environments and technologies • Very strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills • Experience with a columnar database platform • Previous usage of database proxying technology • Comfortable working remotely • Ability to work designated schedules with weekend coverage • Ability to be on call as needed to guarantee customer SLAs • Flexible to travel internationally for company-related meetings • MariaDB does not sponsor work visas or relocation
