📋 Description

• Develop and test a highly scalable, geo-distributed, highly performant database solution • Lead development of the database solution • Manage a number of Software Engineers on the project • Ensure database scalability, performance, and reliability • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in distributed environments • Profile, debug, and fine-tune performance using JFR, JMC, async-profiler, VisualVM, and other tools • Maintain clean, reviewable code with Git • Develop and optimize data structures for data-intensive scenarios • Implement data storage to disk and data transfer over the network, including failure handling and recovery • Implement and integrate algorithms for cluster high availability • Investigate flaws in data consistency algorithms through multi-node cluster and low-level data debugging • Collaborate globally and contribute to open source

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Java programming • Deep knowledge of concurrency in Java and Java Memory Model and/or concurrency models in other programming systems • Excellent Java SE knowledge, including IO and JVM internals • Experience with SQL databases • Experience troubleshooting Java applications and/or databases • Deep SQL knowledge, including MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Ignite, or GridGain • Knowledge of distributed systems, including Raft, MVCC, and ACID • Understanding of MVCC and P2PL, and the difference between Snapshot Isolation and REPEATABLE READ • Leadership, problem-solving, and debugging skills • Experience working effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments • Experience with distributed software solutions and on-premise and cloud-based solutions • Must be able to work without employer-sponsored visa or relocation support
