📋 Description

• Interpret domestic and international sanctions and maintain awareness of sanctions impacting the bank, branches, and subsidiaries • Investigate complex and high-risk sanctions alerts according to regulatory requirements and internal policies • Ensure adherence to Group Sanctions Policy, guidance, and operating procedures • Support the Compliance Manager in identifying sanctions risk themes and trends • Review and disposition sanctions screening alerts through effective investigation • Coordinate with business units to resolve alerts and obtain client information • Handle sanctions referrals in accordance with bank policy • Maintain metrics and prepare monthly and ad hoc management reports • Identify areas requiring attention and recommend improvements aligned with industry standards and regulations • Maintain confidential and secure unit records and follow record-retention policies and SOP guidelines • Maintain working relationships with Business, Operations, and other Compliance functions • Assist with Compliance projects, including system and procedural changes

🎯 Requirements

• Effective knowledge of the Bank’s Compliance, Sanctions, AML, and KYC/CDD policies and procedures • Adequate understanding of sanctions programmes including OFAC, UN, UK, EU, and UAE Target Financial Sanctions • Experience within the financial services industry • Clear understanding of business and operations processes supporting sanctions screening • Good understanding of core banking and sanctions screening systems and their interaction/use • 3+ years of banking experience, including compliance experience • Experience in one or more risk compliance roles, including relevant sanctions experience • Knowledge of sanctions regulations and guidance • Ability to interpret and solve complex issues • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills • Ability to adapt to change and provide input where necessary • Ability to work collaboratively as an effective team player • Professional qualification such as ACAMS or CGSS is desirable
