📋 Description

• Strategize, develop, and implement Data Privacy/Protection Controls in coordination with stakeholders globally. • Ensure organizational compliance with defined policies and frameworks using a data-driven approach. • Coordinate and support the Head of Data Privacy and Protection in achieving the organization’s protection strategy and goals. • Execute privacy operations effectively, promptly, and with required quality. • Assist with data protection strategic initiatives and lead data protection tasks, monitoring and protecting information security assets. • Create privacy policies, strategies, and procedures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with legal, product, and cross-functional teams on data protection policies, privacy-by-design, and regulatory compliance. • Conduct DPIAs, identify and mitigate data-processing risks, guide product teams, document action plans, and maintain a privacy risk register. • Oversee consent management, jurisdictional consent mapping, and migration to a new preference center. • Develop and manage Data Subject Rights workflows, requests, validation, documentation, grievance monitoring, and closure. • Coordinate response to data protection incidents and breaches, including investigations, remediation, statutory reporting, and communications with data principals. • Monitor data protection laws and regulations, lead compliance assessments and audits, and manage regulatory and stakeholder communications. • Lead privacy training programs and privacy compliance projects and strategies. • Support implementation stages including review, preparation, storage, transfer, and legal readiness. • Define required Privacy Enhancing Technologies, implement PET operations, and review control effectiveness. • Participate in governance meetings and steering committees with Mashreq Bank leadership and communicate with local regulatory bodies. • Analyze complex privacy, process, technology-control, and risk-management issues; recommend remediation and lead change implementation. • Assist with privacy solution planning and forecasting, control decisions, technology proof-of-concepts, security metrics, reference architecture, investment recommendations, and ROI analysis.

🎯 Requirements

• Graduate/ Post Graduate degree in Law, information security or a related field. • Minimum 1 Professional certification: CIPPE / CIPM / CIPT / CDPSE. • 10+ years Information Security experience in large financial institution/ banks in Middle East and/or EU data privacy laws/projects. • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience in privacy compliance projects/implementation. • Experience in Middle East and/or EU data privacy laws/projects. • Experience in developing policy, establishing governance models, and imparting compliance training. • Experience working in a regulated industry. • Strong knowledge of regional and EU/Regional data privacy and data protection regulations and other major privacy frameworks and evolving legislation worldwide. • Strong knowledge of multiple privacy regulations such as GDPR, PDPO, and PDPL. • Experience conducting PIAs and DPIAs and managing privacy risks. • Experience with privacy management tools such as OneTrust, Securiti.ai, or similar platforms. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to communicate complex privacy concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Knowledge and experience evaluating and implementing privacy enhancement tools (PET) and technologies. • Knowledge of information technology and data management systems. • Understanding of international banking business and related systems. • Ability to undertake projects, develop alternative methods, and implement solutions. • Ability to collaborate with IT teams on security-related incidents, tasks, and projects.
