📋 Description

• Understand customer problems before committing to solutions • Help shape priorities and decide what to build • Build across the stack wherever the problem requires • Ship incrementally, measure outcomes, and iterate • Use AI throughout the engineering workflow • Diagnose and solve complex problems across a large, mature codebase • Strengthen Matomo's security, performance, scalability, reliability, and resilience • Protect data integrity, accuracy, and trustworthiness • Build and evolve APIs and platform capabilities for plugins and integrations • Evolve consent, privacy, and responsible data collection capabilities • Advance server-side tracking, data anonymisation, and data-health monitoring • Enhance analytics capabilities including goals, ecommerce reporting, and dashboards • Simplify complex analytics workflows • Evolve Matomo's design system • Collaborate asynchronously through clear written communication and documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Comfortable delivering software independently (intermediate) or operating with a high degree of autonomy (senior) • Experience solving customer problems and delivering product value • Comfortable tracing behavior across unfamiliar, mature codebases and debugging difficult interactions • Ability to work across frontend, backend, databases, APIs, product flows, documentation, and customer feedback • Exact stack experience is useful but not required; ability to learn, reason, ship, and solve meaningful problems is valued • Regular use of AI tools or strong motivation to use them • Responsibility for product decisions, technical correctness, security, privacy, maintainability, and customer impact • Ability to diagnose complex or intermittent bugs • Ability to balance immediate customer needs with long-term platform health • Ability to explain technical and product trade-offs clearly • Ability to collaborate across product, engineering, UX, data, and customer feedback • Germany, UK, or Ireland work location eligibility
