📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain tools and APIs that power Megaport's engineering organization • Build robust Go-based backend services and CLI tooling • Automate operational workflows • Streamline access management • Ensure systems adhere to global engineering standards at scale • Build high-performance Go-based APIs, microservices, and CLI tools • Design and implement systems orchestrating workflows between systems of record, SaaS platforms, and internal infrastructure • Design and maintain governance-as-code systems for repository and service oversight • Create and maintain self-service infrastructure interfaces and abstractions • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain reliable Go-based backend systems hosted on Kubernetes/EKS • Take ownership of performance profiling and tuning to ensure platform responsiveness and reliability

🎯 Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a Backend Engineer using Go • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience • Demonstrated experience with building services on top of Kubernetes • Solid knowledge of scalable web service development, including RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems • Strong proficiency in designing and consuming APIs, including managing authentication and authorization protocols • Proficiency in database management, with hands-on experience in optimizing database performance, designing schemas, and query optimization • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment • Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools to optimize system performance • Experience managing infrastructure on AWS and working with GitHub as a core platform • Solid understanding of version control systems (Git) and continuous integration/delivery • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment • Experience building internal developer-facing tools or CLI applications • Passion for 'Platform as a Product'—you enjoy identifying bottlenecks in the developer lifecycle and building automated solutions to solve them • Only candidates residing in Australia or New Zealand will be considered for this role
