• Conduct continuous field-based qualitative research, including interviews, observations, and usability testing • Uncover real-world user friction and validate product priorities before code is written • Synthesise field observations into actionable journey maps and clear product recommendations • Bring authentic user voices into discovery rituals to shape roadmap decisions • Partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Decision Scientists • Test early prototypes and validate product hypotheses • Combine qualitative insights with quantitative telemetry • Build and manage an ethical panel of local research participants • Safeguard user privacy, safety, and dignity during field activities • Establish on-the-ground UX research capability in Kenya • Bridge field realities and product strategy within the Product Excellence team
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), IT, or equivalent practical field experience • 1–2+ years of hands-on experience in field research, community-led pilots, innovation, field operations, or programme execution in Kenya • Proven experience interacting directly with community frontline workers, peer mobilisers, or healthcare providers in local contexts • Familiarity with Figma, Google Workspace, and digital survey tools • Basic understanding of quantitative data metrics, such as drop-off rates and survey results • Excellent verbal and written English • Fluency in local Kenyan languages is a strong plus • Must be based in Kenya • Willingness to travel locally for field observations • Curious, respectful, and unbiased approach to field research • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
