Michigan College Access Network is a statewide nonprofit organization that works to increase postsecondary access and attainment for Michigan residents, with a stated goal of raising degree or certificate attainment to 60% by 2030. MCAN focuses on equity for low-income students, students of color, and first-generation college-going students through programs and initiatives that include advising and coaching, community mobilization, high school and higher education innovation, adult student attainment efforts, advocacy and alignment, data resources (including an Impact Map), grants, and professional development and convenings (annual conference, Advocacy Day, etc. ). It partners with schools, colleges, community organizations, funders, and government entities (e. g. , Michigan Department of Corrections for prison education initiatives) to support policy, practice, and place-based initiatives.
