📋 Description

• The COBOL Developer will be responsible for developing and integrating services in a legacy Mainframe environment. • Operate and monitor batch workflows in Control-M (Mainframe), ensuring SLAs are met. • Respond quickly to abends/failures in the workflow: analyze, fix, release, and reprocess/restart. • Perform quick code reviews in programs to identify root causes and execution parameters. • Implement changes to JCLs and COBOL/DB2 programs (steps, DD statements, parameters, datasets, conditionals, return codes). • Adjust and validate SYSINs (cards/execution parameter files). • Make changes and perform analyses on COBOL programs/JCLs following the change management process (when applicable).

🎯 Requirements

• Solid experience with Control-M on Mainframe (dependencies, rerun/restart, troubleshooting). • Proficiency in JCL and SYSIN. • Experience in failure analysis and working in a TSO/ISPF environment. • Practical knowledge of batch processing: return codes/steps, datasets (e.g., GDG/VSAM depending on client context). • Availability to work evening or night shifts and weekends (rotating schedule). • Nice-to-have: Maintenance and analysis experience with COBOL/DB2. • Knowledge of Oracle databases. • Familiarity with utilities (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS). • Experience with support tools. • Experience with change management tools (e.g., Changeman). • Solid experience in online (transactional) environments. • Proficiency with CICS and COBOL/DB2. • Availability to work weekends (rotating schedule). • Organized and disciplined with documentation of actions and evidence (traceability). • Strong teamwork skills. • Academic background - completed or in progress in IT-related courses.
