📋 Description

• Manage the team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, growth paths, and feedback • Spend approximately half of the time on architecture decisions and the team's hardest technical problems • Build the isolation layer using microVMs or containers, namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and snapshot/restore primitives • Own the security boundary for untrusted customer code • Scale sandbox fleets to thousands of concurrent environments • Write Go and own architecture and difficult implementation decisions • Grow engineers and establish standards for ownership • Partner with Product Managers to turn frontier research needs into shippable primitives

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of real people leadership • Experience managing engineers, including hiring, coaching, providing honest feedback, and developing team members • Deep Linux internals knowledge, including namespaces, cgroups, seccomp, and virtualization • Ideally, experience with microVMs of the Firecracker class • Production experience shipping systems in Go • Understanding of network isolation at the packet level • Performance profiling and understanding of syscall costs • 8+ years building backend or infrastructure systems • Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software used by real users • Low-ego, team-first mindset
