📋 Description

• Design, test, plan, implement, protect, operate, manage, and maintain company databases • Create, monitor, and maintain databases • Diagnose and resolve problems quickly • Make regular recommendations for system improvements • Implement and manage company data-management policies • Manage database access and permissions • Ensure databases meet users’ requirements • Liaise with programmers, application and operational staff, IT project managers, and other technical staff • Review and manage database security, integrity, backup procedures, and performance tuning • Devise and implement processes for resolving faults and data loss • Write disaster recovery plans • Archive data • Replicate data for disaster recovery • Provide technical support to team members • Evaluate new database solutions and technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field • 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role • Extensive knowledge of database technology, networks, server operating systems, and hardware • Extensive experience administering, managing, and tuning databases • Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts • Good understanding of database design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance • Expertise in SQL • Hands-on experience with MySQL, Cloud Spanner, BigTable, ClickHouse, or other DBMS • Meticulous attention to detail • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
