📋 Description

• Implement and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for corporate, foundation, and individual gift prospects • Build a portfolio of qualified donors and develop relationships • Apply donor-strategy principles • Make direct asks for global and local priorities to meet funding needs • Identify opportunities for asset gifts and other non-cash gifts, including planned gifts and trade lands • Provide donor recognition opportunities and increase future giving • Involve appropriate field partners and Worldwide Office staff • Keep partners and staff apprised of interactions, issues, and concerns • Feature Conservancy programs in broad terms • Engage volunteers within formal and informal networks • Use the Conservancy’s donor database • Participate in developing proposals • Travel frequently and on short notice • Work long and flexible hours as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents • Experience asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more • Experience managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors • Experience working with cross-functional teams • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated • Ability to determine an individual’s interests, capacity, and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals • Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles • Ability to implement and manage fundraising plans • Knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, including capital campaigns, major gifts, or planned giving • Experience using listening, diplomacy, and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers • Ability to negotiate high-profile or sensitive agreements • Working knowledge of charitable gift planning basics • Valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program • Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee’s motor vehicle record
