📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of AI Software Engineers; provide technical guidance and career development support • Oversee design, development, and deployment of intelligent multimodal AI agents (voice and chat) for Nextiva’s customer experience platform • Guide integration of NLP, speech recognition, and large language models into production systems • Integrate LLMs and other AI/ML components for question answering, task automation, sentiment analysis, and recommendations • Build and integrate multimodal interaction components including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and dialog management systems • Optimize AI algorithms and agent frameworks for performance, scalability, and reliability; use data-driven methods to tune models • Implement robust testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) for AI features and incorporate ethical AI practices to ensure unbiased, compliant behavior • Collaborate across the product organization to define roadmap and translate business goals into technical strategies and execution plans • Drive innovation by evaluating and adopting emerging AI technologies and staying current with advancements in AI and multimodal systems • Deliver AI features that measurably improve customer experiences (higher self-service resolution, faster response times, improved satisfaction) while maintaining high software quality and ethical standards

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required) • Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, or related discipline strongly preferred (equivalent practical experience considered) • 8+ years of software development experience • 3+ years in a technical leadership or management role • Proven track record in AI/ML product development and production-grade software (backend services, APIs, data pipelines) • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning fundamentals with hands-on experience in NLP and/or deep learning • Familiarity with transformer-based models and conversational AI frameworks • Proficiency in Python (TensorFlow or PyTorch) and/or a general-purpose language like Java or C# • Experience with machine learning frameworks/libraries (Hugging Face Transformers, OpenAI APIs, spaCy, Kaldi) • Experience with cloud AI services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and deploying models at scale • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • Experience integrating speech-to-text (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) engines and building chatbots/voice bots • Strong project management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills • Familiarity with testing practices for AI features (unit, integration, end-to-end) and ethical AI practices
