📋 Description

• Own the engineering of the Nexus Exchange end-to-end, including matching, risk, settlement, indexing, storage, API/CLI/SDK, oracle, and infrastructure. • Set engineering direction while remaining hands-on in high-leverage production code. • Own architecture across the Exchange domain. • Build the Exchange and its sub-components, including Kubernetes and Terraform infrastructure. • Lead senior engineers and pods, managing timelines, roadmaps, and resourcing. • Drive product, customer, and business outcomes with urgency and high-frequency iteration. • Improve organizational productivity and efficiency. • Own engineering-process automation, agent infrastructure, logging, telemetry, observability, and self-improvement loops. • Design team structures and incentives with the CEO and executive team. • Manage an international, distributed workforce. • Establish quality infrastructure, automated testing, code review, on-call, and incident-response standards. • Grow individual contributors and tech leads. • Communicate through design documents, RFCs, and post-mortems.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years building production software. • 2+ years in an engineering leadership capacity, such as tech lead, staff, principal, or architect across multiple teams. • Experience leading engineering organizations. • Proven high-throughput, low-latency systems experience. • Strong command of concurrent and parallel systems. • Deep hands-on fluency with Rust, Go, Next.js/TypeScript or Node, and GCP. • Strong architecture skills and ability to balance correctness, latency, throughput, and operability. • Business-minded and outcome-driven approach. • Resilience, logical reasoning, and first-principles thinking under pressure. • Interest in using current AI tools and advancing organizational automation. • Experience mentoring senior engineers and growing tech leads. • Fluent written and spoken English. • Async-first working style with meaningful US Pacific overlap. • Deep exchange/trading-systems or comparable transaction-processing architecture experience. • Knowledge of matching, risk, and settlement correctness; market data indexing and cold storage; API, SDK, and CLI surfaces; and oracle design. • Willingness to work PST hours and be on-call is requested in the application form.
