📋 Description

• Driving strategic direction and roadmap for Akamai Compute's customer-facing API and internal backend orchestration and support services • Driving architectural shift of services to container orchestration and modular designs, enabling horizontal scalability and granular component ownership • Establishing mechanisms to audit software lifecycles, enhancing service reliability, improving observability, and ensuring robust security for Akamai Compute • Partnering with Product Management, SRE, Engineering leaders, SDET and various product teams to define requirements, integrate new features, and drive consistent, intuitive user experiences • Fostering a growth-oriented, inclusive, and respectful culture. Mentor Senior and Principal engineers, drive technical leadership, and promote knowledge sharing across the organization

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of relevant experience • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent • managing high-performing engineering teams in a cloud-engineering and web services environment • architectural design, particularly with distributed systems, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and backend service integration • large-scale migrations, such as moving services to containerized orchestration or modularizing legacy systems to support business demand • ensuring security, performance, and reliability in mission-critical environments • ability to communicate openly and respectfully
