Nothing ships unless it meets your exacting standards. • You're not delegating quality control—you're the final pair of eyes on work before it goes to clients. You catch the misaligned button, the weak photo crop, the headline that's too long for the layout, the CTA that doesn't pop. • Provide daily coaching that teaches why design choices matter: "This doesn't work because..." and "Here's what would be stronger..." • Continuously update design guidelines, templates, and best practices as you learn what's converting. When you spot a pattern that works, you document it and train the team on it immediately. When something stops performing, you kill it fast. • Manage up 15 Web Production Specialists to see design the way you do—training them to spot credibility killers, recognize weak visual hierarchy, and make choices that actually convert instead of just looking "done." • Build and maintain comprehensive visual guidelines that scale your judgment across the team—covering everything from image selection criteria to typography standards to layout principles that guide visitors toward action. • Design production processes that maintain velocity while preserving the time needed for genuine design thinking. When timelines pressure quality, you push back. • Partner with Implementation Managers and Onboarding Specialists to ensure strategic briefs translate into visually exceptional execution. You're the voice that says "this design won't convert" when others just see completion. • Track team bandwidth, distribute work strategically, monitor individual quality trends, and provide developmental feedback focused on elevating design craft. • Regularly research competitive sites, high-converting designs across industries, emerging visual trends, and new tools or techniques that could improve output quality.

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5 years managing creative or production teams in digital marketing, agency, or web design environments with proven ability to maintain design excellence at scale • Design director-level eye: You can evaluate a page in 30 seconds and identify exactly what's preventing conversion—whether it's visual hierarchy, image credibility, CTA prominence, white space, typography, or mobile experience • Intelligent content implementation: Oversee the process of taking structured data from onboarding forms and transforming it into high-converting WordPress pages. • Solid SEO fundamentals: Understanding of schema markup, technical on-page optimization, how content structure affects ranking, and the relationship between design decisions and SEO performance • WordPress mastery: Deep expertise across the WordPress ecosystem, including: Advanced understanding of Gutenberg, Elementor, WP Bakery, and other page builders • Conversion-focused design expertise: Deep understanding of the psychology behind visual design choices—how imagery affects trust, how layout guides behavior, how typography signals quality, how white space impacts focus • Adaptive learning orientation: You actively study what's working now, not what worked two years ago. You're constantly testing assumptions, researching trends, and updating your approach based on performance data and industry evolution. • Coaching through critique: You can explain precisely why a design choice works or fails, helping designers develop judgment rather than just following rules. Your feedback makes people better at seeing what you see. • 3-5 years performance management experience: Track record of setting clear quality expectations, providing developmental feedback, addressing performance issues directly, and elevating team capabilities through hands-on coaching • Remote team leadership: Experience managing distributed teams across time zones with strong asynchronous communication and clear documentation of standards • Comfortable with being the bad guy: You're willing to send work back, challenge timelines when they compromise quality, and be the person who says "this isn't ready" when everyone else wants to ship. • Quality metrics thinking: You track revision rates, client feedback patterns, conversion performance data, and team output quality—using data to identify where standards are slipping and where training is needed.
