📋 Description

• Eliminate manual QA dependency and build scalable automated testing • Design and evolve test architecture and tooling that scales across services and teams • Design and implement end-to-end, integration, and API test automation • Own test strategy across services — determine what to test, where to test it (unit vs integration vs E2E), and how to maximize signal while minimizing runtime • Improve CI/CD confidence and release safety while increasing deployment velocity • Reduce regression risk through targeted, high-value test coverage rather than brute-force test expansion • Own test reliability — proactively detect, diagnose, and eliminate flaky or low-signal tests

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of features, quality, or system-level initiatives. • Strong backend development experience (Ruby, Node.js, or similar). • Solid understanding of REST APIs, service contracts, and software design principles. • Experience working across backend services, APIs, and production systems. • Experience designing and maintaining automated tests across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels. • Familiarity with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress). • Strong ownership of code quality, debugging, and testing strategy, balancing coverage, reliability, and execution time. • Experience building and operating services in AWS or similar cloud environments. • Good understanding of cloud-native and distributed systems (microservices, scalability, resilience). • Willingness to participate in a mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation. • Experience responding to production incidents and contributing to reliability improvements and postmortems.
