📋 Description

• Review, update, document, and support implementation of a sustainable, competency-based ophthalmic training curriculum for IRO • Integrate simulation, wet lab activities, clinical education, surgical training equipment, Artificial Intelligence tools, and Virtual Reality environments into the curriculum • Define competencies, learning objectives, activities, expected outcomes, and assessment approaches for residency levels and priority subspecialties • Develop content, educational materials, and guidelines for Training Center equipment and resources • Propose monitoring tools, indicators, sustainability recommendations, faculty engagement measures, and institutional ownership strategies • Review IRO documentation against Ophthalmology Foundation accreditation requirements and identify gaps • Complete, update, organize, and consolidate documentation required for IRO’s accreditation application • Prepare an inception report and work plan, including curriculum assessment, gap analysis, schedules, and documentation requirements • Produce the final consolidated curriculum development package and implementation roadmap • Produce the final consolidated Ophthalmology Foundation accreditation package, requirements matrix, checklist, and maintenance recommendations • Coordinate with the Orbis Peru Program Director, LAD Project Manager, IRO stakeholders, Orbis teams, and partners • Maintain approximately biweekly technical coordination with Dr. Eduardo Mayorga • Independently plan and execute consultancy work while meeting agreed deliverable deadlines

🎯 Requirements

• Professional degree in Medicine, Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field • Demonstrated experience in teaching and residency training • Experience developing, updating, or implementing medical education curricula or training programs • Experience in academic program management • Experience in competency-based education, simulation, wet lab, or clinical/surgical training is desirable • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, and meet agreed deadlines within a multicultural, multi-partner environment • Ability to provide services as an independent contractor and fulfill any registration required by Peruvian law

• Payment in two disbursements: 50% upon delivery of the first deliverable and 50% upon satisfactory completion and acceptance of the final deliverable • Authorized travel within Peru reimbursed or coordinated according to Orbis travel policy for consultants • Flexible scheduling; Consultant may organize their own working time • Consultant is not required to observe Orbis office hours • Professional independence in selecting methodology, tools, and schedule • No office space, equipment, or fixed working schedule required from Orbis
