Oweesta is the longest-standing Native CDFI intermediary that provides financial products, capacity-building services, and capital exclusively to Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and Native communities. For more than 25 years it has delivered training, technical assistance, lending and capitalization, investments, research, and policy advocacy to help tribes and Native organizations build assets—supporting small business creation, homeownership, financial education, and reservation economies. Oweesta also convenes events and webinars, runs practitioner and housing counseling networks, and partners with funders and organizations to advance Native economic sovereignty. The organization is based in Longmont, Colorado and positions itself as an intermediary and resource hub for Native economic development.
