Owkin is an AI-driven biomedical company building an autonomous “AI Scientist” (K Pro) to automate and support biopharmaceutical R&D and clinical research. Its platform combines advanced machine learning and foundation models trained on a large multimodal patient data network with wet-lab validation and clinical partnerships to generate biological insights, inform clinical trial and patient/population decisions, and accelerate drug discovery and diagnostics. Owkin also incubates diagnostic spinouts and provides tools and services for data partners, model development, and translational research.

📋 Description

‱ Co-build Owkin's AI Scientist across data-first and knowledge-first discovery paradigms ‱ Lead and/or contribute to projects discovering novel drug targets, biomarkers, and disease subtypes using patients' multi-omics and pre-clinical data ‱ Apply multimodal analyses and machine/deep learning algorithms to genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other biological data ‱ Collaborate with biologists, MDs, computational chemists, agentic engineers, software engineers, ML engineers, and external academic or pharmaceutical collaborators ‱ Provide scientific input to shape tools and capabilities needed by pharmaceutical partners ‱ Communicate scientific results internally and externally ‱ Extend Owkin's methodology, including regular literature review ‱ Develop and retain a high-performing and engaged scientists team

🎯 Requirements

‱ PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, or Machine Learning with strong Computational Biology knowledge, or equivalent high-level industry experience ‱ Deep expertise with multimodal datasets and omics modalities, including bulk RNA-seq, single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, WGS, WES, GWAS, and proteomics ‱ Expert-level Python skills ‱ Ability to write clean, modular code interfacing with complex APIs and databases ‱ Publication record in top-tier journals and conferences ‱ Ability to explain complex agent behaviors to AI and biological experts ‱ Excellent written and oral communication skills ‱ Fluent in English; French is a plus ‱ Ability to manage stakeholder expectations across all levels and cross-functional teams ‱ Highly collaborative, team-first mindset ‱ Preferred: expertise in agentic AI, LLM reasoning, long-context management, and tool-augmented generation ‱ Preferred: knowledge of medical and drug-discovery data modalities such as H&E and EHR ‱ Preferred: experience training and deploying large-scale models and managing multi-agent orchestrations ‱ Preferred: experience with causal inference and causal discovery in biological systems ‱ Preferred: track record of turning research concepts into functional tools used by scientists
