📋 Description

• Conduct regular 1:1s, provide ongoing feedback, and manage the team’s performance cycle • Support each engineer’s career development, using the career framework to guide growth and promotion conversations • Lead the hiring and onboarding of new engineers, raising the team’s technical bar • Build a safe, inclusive, and high-performing environment; mediate conflicts and foster a healthy squad culture • Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery through sprint planning, capacity planning, and progress tracking • Remove blockers and manage dependencies with other teams and functions • Translate the product roadmap, defined together with the PM, into predictable execution • Maintain a healthy balance between product delivery and investment in quality, reliability, and technical debt reduction • Lead incident management and post-mortems within the squad’s domain; ensure appropriate on-call coverage, SLAs, and documentation • Maintain sufficient technical depth to evaluate architectural decisions rigorously and support Staff and senior engineers in those decisions • Transparently report delivery status and risks to leadership and stakeholders • Ensure that engineering and company processes—such as calibration, training, and engagement surveys—are carried out within the team

🎯 Requirements

• Previous experience as a Tech Lead or in formal engineering team leadership, including people management, performance management, and career development • Strong technical background in software development, ideally backend, with the ability to participate in architecture discussions and evaluate trade-offs—equivalent to a senior-level engineer • Experience leading agile teams to deliver predictably and with high quality • Experience with technical hiring and engineer development • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to give and receive feedback directly and empathetically • Familiarity with microservices and cloud environments, particularly AWS, as well as modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, observability, and on-call • Experience in fintech, payments, credit, or collections (a plus) • Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures (a plus) • Familiarity with TypeScript/NestJS, DynamoDB, and SQS/SNS; Rust is a plus • Experience leading post-mortems and fostering a reliability culture based on SLOs (a plus)
