📋 Description

• Define and continuously improve the Quality Engineering strategy, approach and execution across development projects • Provide technical expertise and leadership in Quality Engineering, Test Automation and Software Testing • Lead, mentor and develop QA Automation Engineers and QA Architects, and provide functional leadership to QA Engineers in development teams • Set expectations, coach individuals, address capability gaps and build a culture of ownership and continuous technical growth • Participate in interviews, induction, training and performance evaluations • Ensure development teams follow Quality Engineering principles, guidelines and best practices • Drive shift-left quality across the software development lifecycle • Develop, standardize and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and solutions • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and continuous delivery processes • Establish testing practices for short development cycles, frequent integration and trunk-based development • Define quality standards, testing methodologies and engineering practices across the organization • Drive functional, integration, API, end-to-end, performance, scalability and reliability testing • Establish performance baselines, quality gates and monitoring signals with Engineering and Architecture • Monitor QA activities, test results, escaped defects, quality trends and root causes • Analyze and present quality and testing metrics to stakeholders • Ensure effective use and continuous evaluation of QA tools and technologies • Own and drive the Quality Engineering AI adoption strategy across test design, generation, automation, exploratory testing, analysis and productivity • Build AI capability by coaching QE engineers on AI-assisted workflows and evaluating their effectiveness • Evaluate emerging testing technologies and industry practices • Serve as escalation point and primary contact for Quality Engineering, testing and quality assurance • Work with QA Engineers, QA Architects, Engineering Managers and the Director of Engineering to execute company quality goals • Promote quality ownership across development teams and implement actions addressing quality risks and process gaps

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience • Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering experience across multiple projects, off-shore and in-house • Strong technical leadership skills implementing and shaping company-wide QA and Quality Engineering processes, strategies and standards • Strong technical skills across functional and non-functional testing, manual and automated testing, ideally in an Agile and continuous delivery environment • Strong experience with test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration and modern software testing practices • Experience leading and mentoring QA Automation Engineers, QA Architects and QA Engineers across multiple development teams • Excellent knowledge of Risk Management, Risk Identification and Risk-Based Testing • Experience managing large and complex activities, technical initiatives and processes • Experience developing and implementing scalable test automation strategies and frameworks • Understanding of modern software development, CI/CD and continuous testing practices • Practical experience with AI-assisted testing, automation and engineering workflows • Strong understanding of performance, scalability and reliability testing for distributed, API-driven and high-volume production systems • Experience operating in continuous delivery environments with frequent releases, short-lived changes and trunk-based development • Strong communication, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills • Ability to motivate teams, handle conflict and work under pressure • Ability to build, implement and direct Quality Engineering principles across the organization
