• Develop new JavaScript features for browser extensions, desktop applications, command-line interfaces, and SDKs • Maintain, improve, and fix bugs in the existing codebase • Transform Figma wireframes into reusable Storybook components • Implement client-side business logic, zero-trust data validation, local data persistence, and cryptographic mechanisms • Conduct code reviews and write unit tests targeting 80% coverage • Develop end-to-end tests for critical user journeys • Ensure compatibility across multiple platforms and environments • Optimize code for performance and scalability • Refine requests into business cases and propose functional and technical approaches • Collaborate with senior team members on architectural improvements • Contribute to OpenAPI specifications, SDKs, and user and administrator documentation • Engage with community members on feature requests and bug reports • Share findings and best practices through blog posts and online/offline events • Plan and deploy product versions while minimizing downtime • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support incident resolution • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables • Collaborate with and coach co-workers • Perform security risk analysis and follow secure coding and design practices • Monitor and patch dependency vulnerabilities • Ensure GDPR and other data protection compliance • Support least-privilege access, security exercises, and crisis-management procedures
• 3+ years of experience building JavaScript applications • Proficiency building front-end applications with React or an equivalent framework • Proficiency testing applications with Jest or another JavaScript testing framework • Proficiency integrating RESTful APIs into front-end applications • Knowledge of HTML and CSS • Familiarity with Git and branching models • Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and secure coding practices • Proficiency with another programming language: PHP, C#, Go, Swift, Python, or Rust • Fluent English, verbal and written • Strong analytical skills and a simple, solution-oriented mindset • Ability to balance technical excellence with business priorities and strategic goals • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team • Receptiveness to feedback and effective team collaboration • Interest in cybersecurity or privacy-related issues • Understanding of open source • Considered a plus: experience building browser extensions, UWP, or mobile applications • Considered a plus: experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as WebdriverIO, Cypress, or Selenium • Considered a plus: experience with design systems and frameworks such as Storybook • Considered a plus: familiarity with UML documentation • Considered a plus: experience maintaining a long-lived project • Considered a plus: experience contributing to an open source project • Preferably one other language besides English • Considered a plus: experience collaborating with remote teams asynchronously • Considered a plus: experience writing technical blog posts or sharing knowledge through articles or talks
