• Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for external APIs and integration capabilities. • Identify and prioritize high-value integration opportunities with internal product teams, customers, and technology partners. • Collaborate with Engineering and Architecture to translate business needs into secure, scalable, reliable, and reusable API solutions. • Own the lifecycle of API products and integration capabilities from opportunity assessment and requirements definition through launch, adoption, enhancement, and retirement. • Drive ecosystem growth by enabling customers and partners to build solutions extending the Paylocity platform. • Gather, validate, and prioritize customer, partner, and internal stakeholder requirements. • Develop business cases, product requirements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria for API and integration initiatives. • Manage and prioritize the product backlog. • Lead cross-functional planning and execution, identifying dependencies, risks, and delivery obstacles. • Establish and monitor KPIs for API usage, partner adoption, ecosystem growth, reliability, and customer satisfaction. • Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate performance and inform roadmap decisions. • Ensure APIs are intuitive, discoverable, well-documented, and supported by onboarding and implementation guidance. • Coordinate launches, communication, enablement, and adoption planning for new API and integration capabilities. • Support go-to-market initiatives, technology partnerships, and ecosystem growth. • Communicate product strategy, roadmap priorities, delivery progress, and business impact to stakeholders and leadership. • Monitor industry trends, customer expectations, integration technologies, and competitive offerings. • Champion customer-centric, data-driven product management and foster cross-functional collaboration. • Support product management best practices and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 8+ years of product management experience. • Proven track record defining, delivering, and scaling technical products in a SaaS environment. • Strong understanding of API design principles, RESTful services, webhooks, OAuth, SSO, API keys, and modern integration patterns. • Experience owning APIs, integrations, platform products, developer-facing products, or other technical product domains. • Proven experience as a technical Product Manager or Product Owner. • Ability to partner effectively with engineering teams and design for developer personas. • Strong business acumen and ability to relate product metrics to business outcomes. • Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. • Experience managing competing priorities and aligning multiple business areas. • Ability to influence senior leaders and secure buy-in for product strategies. • Experience reporting progress in business reviews and identifying adjustments from data insights. • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and willingness to learn. • Experience working with third-party technology partners, ISVs, or software integration ecosystems preferred. • Familiarity with API management platforms, developer portals, SDKs, event-driven architectures, and integration middleware preferred. • Experience defining API governance, versioning, lifecycle management, and platform adoption strategies preferred. • Experience with enterprise SaaS products and complex B2B customer environments preferred. • Technical background in software development, solutions architecture, implementation consulting, or technical product management preferred. • Ability to sit for extended periods, typically 7–8 hours per day. • Ability to operate computers and phone systems, type, and use multiple software programs simultaneously.
