📋 Description

• Role aim: Lead AI-focused engineering for English Language Learning products to deliver learning and assessment solutions. • Role profile: Experienced Software Engineering Manager leading software engineers and Data Scientists to deliver AI-powered solutions across the SDLC. • Co-responsible for one or more digital products with the product owner, owning customer experience and technical strategy. • Lead and manage teams: guidance, mentorship and professional growth. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, designers, architecture, data, QA, Ops, Customer Service). • Drive software development: planning, design, implementation, testing, deployment; enforce DevOps/DevSecOps, Clean Code, DDD. • Remove obstacles, resolve conflicts, ensure team productivity and capacity. • Serve as single point of contact for owned products; translate business needs into technical solutions. • Be accountable for product data and its journey to platforms to enable outcome-driven business decisions. • Track and report on roadmap progress, budget, and capacity; responsible for solution budget and TCO. • Understand and drive security and compliance requirements. • Act as technical leader with deep understanding of AI possibilities; ensure scalability and maintainability. • Foster continuous improvement, innovation, knowledge sharing and an inclusive environment. • Estimated time distribution: Meetings/people management 60%; New features 20%; Documentation/processes 20%; Maintenance 0%.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. • Proven experience in software engineering principles, development processes, technologies, extreme development methodologies and practices and industry trends for Development and QA. • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, PHP, Kotlin, Python, or C++, as well as frameworks like React and Node.js. • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. • Working experience in Agile practices, product and project management principles. • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals. • Experience with software development and DevOps/DevSecOps tools and practices (version control, issue tracking, CI/CD pipelines, Continuous deployment, Feature Flags, Domain Driven Design, Events Driven Architecture, Clean Code). • Ability to make strategic decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple teams and initiatives simultaneously. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Passion for staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends. • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment.
