📋 Description

• Recommend and implement new software component designs or enhancements to existing software products • Work with product designers and owners to turn high-level requirements into user stories and shippable features • Apply high coding standards, attention to detail, and a methodological work process • Implement maintainable, reusable, clean code with unit testing • Drive coding standards within the team • Keep up with the latest technology trends and apply a pragmatic approach to solution design • Coach and support teammates through code reviews and whiteboarding sessions • Take initiative in designing and implementing solutions that provide positive outcomes for the team and business • Contribute to Phorest’s main suite of Insights reports and Dashboards, including Staff Performance, Stock, Client Retention and Memberships • Help shape a high-scale, distributed system using event-driven architecture and modern cloud technologies • Deliver work through feature flags and continuous delivery

🎯 Requirements

• Strong proficiency and at least 5 years of professional experience with object-oriented software design, primarily Java • Knowledge and understanding of JavaScript, its fundamentals, and latest developments • Experience working with and building RESTful APIs • GraphQL knowledge is a bonus • Ability to reason about trade-offs when discussing backend technologies • Ability to inspire and motivate, improve quality and productivity, and maintain technical innovation and excellence • Excellent attention to detail and a methodological work process • Maintainability, reuse, clean code, and unit testing practices • Experience with event-driven architecture • Experience with distributed systems • Experience with Docker • Experience with Serverless technologies • Experience with feature flags and continuous delivery • Experience with code reviews and whiteboarding sessions
