📋 Description

• Move across the backend and, where needed, support development of the new dashboard frontend • Architect and build merchant automation for payment disputes, including notifications, deadline tracking, evidence collection, and responses • Expand dispute coverage from five PSPs to the rest of Primer’s network • Work with third-party fraud vendors including Riskified, Forter, Signifyd, and Sift to build a unified comparison and switching experience • Design and ship a native rules and signals engine, including velocity rules, blocklists, and device fingerprinting • Make early architecture decisions around service boundaries, integration patterns, and data models • Partner with the Engineering Manager and Product to turn merchant pain points into shipped automation • Help establish on-call rotas, tooling, and engineering conventions for the new team

🎯 Requirements

• Experience owning backend systems end-to-end, from design through shipping and monitoring • Experience ideally in fraud, risk, payments, or another consequential space • Comfortable designing systems from scratch • Strong architecture and code-quality instincts • Experience mentoring or raising the technical bar for others • Proactive approach and ability to ship early and often • History of maintaining a high quality bar in production systems • Exposure to card scheme rules, chargeback workflows, or fraud vendor integrations (nice to have, not required) • Experience with webhook-based event systems, rules engines, or orchestration platforms (nice to have, not required) • Willingness to pick up frontend work as needed (nice to have, not required) • Must be based in Portugal, Poland, Romania, Hungary, or South Africa • Must provide working-rights information for the country of residence
