📋 Description

• Move across the backend and, where needed, support development of the new dashboard frontend • Architect and build merchant automation for payment disputes, including notification, deadline tracking, evidence collection, and responses • Expand dispute coverage from five PSPs to the rest of Primer's network • Work with Riskified, Forter, Signifyd, and Sift to build a unified fraud-vendor comparison and switching experience • Design and ship a native rules and signals engine, including velocity rules, blocklists, and device fingerprinting • Make early architecture decisions covering service boundaries, integration patterns, and data models • Partner with the Engineering Manager and Product to turn merchant pain points into shipped automation • Help establish on-call rotas, tooling, and engineering conventions for the new team • Participate in the interview process: intro call, hiring manager interview, role-contextualized challenge, and values-alignment interview

🎯 Requirements

• Experience owning backend systems end-to-end; design through shipping through monitoring—ideally in fraud, risk, payments, or another consequential space • Comfortable designing systems from scratch • Strong architecture and code-quality instincts • Experience mentoring or raising the technical bar for people around you • Proactive and looking to ship early and often • History of setting and maintaining a high bar for quality in shipping • Exposure to card scheme rules, chargeback workflows, or fraud vendor integrations (nice to have, not required) • Experience with webhook-based event systems, rules engines, or orchestration platforms (nice to have, not required) • Willingness to pick up frontend work as needed (nice to have, not required) • Must be based in one of the listed countries: Romania, Hungary, Poland, or South Africa
