• Run full-cycle recruitment across the studio from intake conversation to signed offer • Plan hiring ahead of production needs and identify staffing gaps with leads • Write role descriptions that attract talent • Maintain candidate pipelines and provide timely feedback • Negotiate and close offers • Build clear role requirements, consistent interview stages, fair technical assessments and scorecards • Own and improve ATS workflows, candidate experience and recruiting metrics • Coach managers on interviewing, decision-making and day-to-day HR policies and tools • Benchmark salaries and build market-aligned, budget-conscious offers • Own employee onboarding and help new hires become productive quickly • Manage employment contracts, payroll processes and forecasts, vacation and leave management, offboarding, benefits and employee records • Handle terminations professionally and fairly in line with labour law and company policy • Prepare termination documentation and guide managers through the process • Serve as the studio’s go-to HR partner for conflicts, frustrations and personal difficulties • Recognise unhealthy dynamics and introduce tools supporting ownership, direct conversation and problem-solving • Monitor early signals of attrition • Lead engagement, well-being, inclusion and psychological safety initiatives with the HR team • Shape studio life through events and rituals
• 7+ years of experience in HR, including time at medium-to-large tech companies • Solid full-cycle recruitment experience in tech or games, including technical and creative roles • Track record of fast, rigorous hiring processes with structured interviews and scorecards • Hands-on experience with salary benchmarking, offer design and negotiation • Experience with onboarding, employee relations and HR operations • Confidence handling conflict and difficult conversations neutrally, with a working understanding of team dynamics • Experience working with dynamic candidate pipelines • Experience working closely with a CEO on company culture and values • Autonomous, organised and good at prioritising • Approachable and trustworthy, with good judgement about when to raise something • Fluent English and great communication skills • Daily use of AI tools and curiosity about improving workflows and processes with them • Experience with Atlassian suite, Jira and Confluence • Comfortable reading Jira reports and projects • Experience with Slack in communication culture and protocol • Care about games and players • Nice to have: experience in a fully remote, multi-country team • Nice to have: knowledge of Maltese employment law or hiring across several EU countries • Nice to have: training or certification in coaching, mediation or conflict resolution • Nice to have: experience with HR analytics, engagement surveys, attrition and absence tracking • Nice to have: playing games, ideally multiplayer or competitive shooters
