📋 Description
• Operating a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) growth chamber for the growth of synthetic diamond for quantum sensing applications • Assist in the optimization and assembly of a CVD growth chamber in collaboration with experts from the Fraunhofer Institute in Freiburg • Develop and refine growth parameters to improve the performance of the NV-doped diamond material • Characterize diamond properties using spectroscopic, optical, and magnetic measurement techniques • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to transfer research outcomes into scalable production processes • Document processes, analyze experimental results, and present findings to internal stakeholders and scientific partners • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, patents, and technical reports
🎯 Requirements
• Master’s degree in Physics, Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field • Strong background in experimental research, preferably in thin-film deposition, plasma physics, or crystal growth • Interest or experience in CVD processes, vacuum systems, or quantum materials • Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset • Strong analytical skills and experience with data evaluation and experimental design • Motivation to contribute to high-impact semiconductor and quantum technology development • Fluent in English (German is a plus).
