📋 Description

• QuartzBio is a SaaS provider delivering data-enabling software for life sciences (biospecimen, assay, and clinical data). • Senior AI Engineer will design, develop, test and maintain software applications and AI systems. • Manage projects and initiatives with moderate complexity; collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering. • Create design specifications, test plans and automated test scripts; develop scalable, maintainable, secure software. • Analyze, maintain, implement and profile existing applications; write and debug systems per development lifecycle. • Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues; implement new features, enhancements, tools, and best practices. • Write clean, legible, efficient, and well-documented code; lead code reviews and mentor peers. • Architect and scale GenAI systems for conversational data exploration addressing biomarker data challenges. • Design and implement AI-first architectures: GenAI pipelines, embeddings, vector search, semantic search, RAG. • Make strategic architectural decisions balancing performance, cost, scalability, and maintainability. • Continuously improve AI-powered features optimizing accuracy, latency, and UX; shape AI roadmap and align with product goals. • Follow company principles and code of ethics; support change initiatives and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree related field and a minimum 8 years of relevant work experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions. • 4-6 years of experience working in a customer-facing role and leading projects. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence through clear documentation and concise report writing. • Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools (e.g. project scheduling, budgeting, status reporting). • Ability to write complex reports in a clear and concise manner. • Proven leadership and project management skills; provides expertise and guidance to team members. • Experience leading complex technical and functional projects and contributing to departmental strategy. • Continuously improving technical skills and staying up to date with emerging technologies. • For AI Engineer Manager: 8+ years deploying AI/ML/GenAI products in production environments. • Deep technical expertise in Python and cloud platforms (AWS preferred). • Experience with vector databases, semantic search systems, and RAG architectures. • Knowledge of LLMs, embedding models, personalization, and quality control. • Proficient with AI development tools such as AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and LlamaIndex. • Strong foundation in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). • Experience with AI-first engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Augment, Cursor). • Preferred: Experience with Django/FastAPI/Flask or similar Python web frameworks; Frontend (TypeScript/React) experience; Domain expertise in biomarker data and life sciences.
