📋 Description

• Work on the Motor team within Contact Management, responsible for the platform that receives, stores, and retrieves contacts in RD Station Marketing • Develop and enhance data indexing and publishing services, ensuring consistency between the transactional database and Elasticsearch • Design and optimize Elasticsearch indexes and queries • Implement and maintain streaming pipelines with Kafka, including consumers, retries, and failure recovery • Work with event processing and CDC, ensuring ordering, consistency, and lag control • Build backpressure, throttling, and fairness mechanisms to protect the platform under high volumes • Integrate data services with RD Station Marketing, correctly routing reads and writes • Diagnose end-to-end issues across PostgreSQL, messaging, Elasticsearch, and APIs • Implement automated tests, code reviews, and contract and schema validation • Instrument services with metrics, traces, and alerts • Operate services on Kubernetes, participating in deployments, rollouts, autoscaling, and rollbacks

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, developing domain services rather than only CRUD applications • Hands-on experience with messaging and streaming using Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar technologies • Experience with Elasticsearch or equivalent search engines, including mappings, queries, and index operations • Experience with PostgreSQL/SQL and an understanding of consistency between transactional databases and indexes • Experience working with distributed systems in production, including concurrency, idempotency, backpressure, and diagnosing latency or lag issues • Experience with automated testing, especially RSpec or an equivalent framework • Knowledge of APIs, service-to-service contracts, and HTTP-based integration • Experience with Git, pull requests, and CI/CD processes • Analytical ability to investigate complex problems and evaluate different technical alternatives • Proactive approach to anticipating risks and proposing architectural improvements • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Preferred: experience with CDC/Debezium, Avro, and Schema Registry • Preferred: experience with event-driven architecture and indexing pipelines • Preferred: knowledge of Karafka, consumer groups, batch processing, offset/seek, and backpressure • Preferred: experience with Sidekiq/Redis and tenant-level concurrency control mechanisms • Preferred: experience operating and optimizing Elasticsearch clusters • Preferred: knowledge of Kubernetes, KEDA, Helm, and gradual rollout strategies such as shadow deployments and feature flags • Preferred: experience with Datadog, Sentry, or Prometheus • Preferred: experience with cluster migrations, dual-write implementations, or data pipeline cutovers • Preferred: previous experience with Contact Management, search, segmentation, or contact automation products
