S. government capacity by funding, coordinating, and scaling reforms across workforce, procedures, digital infrastructure, and test-and-learn frameworks. The Fund assembles experts, maps the field, fills gaps, and makes strategic investments at state and federal levels to build a new operating model for effective government implementation and policy outcomes. Its work focuses on practical, outcome-oriented interventions—hiring and workforce development, rightsized procedures, mission-specific digital systems, and feedback loops that link policy to implementation.

📋 Description

• Lead entire portfolio focused on ambitious reform of state governments • Develop and execute scalable state strategy • Build a portfolio of state-focused investments • Cultivate partnerships across the ecosystem • Create forums and infrastructure for organizations to engage • Expand advocacy and political coalition-building for reform • Capture and synthesize lessons from work and invest in knowledge infrastructure • Contribute to building a high-performing organization and manage a geographically distributed team

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial experience in government reform, public sector innovation, or related fields, likely spanning 10-20 years • Worked in or closely with state government • Understand state government rhythms, constraints, and politics • Build field capacity and create ecosystems for organizational effectiveness • Strong ability to develop scalable strategies • Build trust-based relationships across ideological divides • Strong management and team building skills • AI-forward approach in work and strategy • Self-directed strategic leadership
