📋 Description

• Apply software engineering principles to the operations domain • Ensure service reliability meets users’ needs for internally critical and externally visible services • Design, build, and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems • Develop APIs using Red Hat technology products and services • Design, develop, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines • Analyze issues in Kafka applications • Monitor Kafka performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted data flow • Participate in an on-call rotation providing 24x7x365 production support and responding to urgent customer issues • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems • Work across microservices, API management, web-scale architectures, DevOps engineering, application delivery, and container-based continuous delivery using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform • Collaborate with Red Hat and the open source community to engineer software solutions for customers’ transformation journeys • Advise customers and use critical thinking to solve complex problems • Train and coach team members on technical and non-technical skills • Remain an active coder during engagements • Support presales and post-sales field teams during workshops, proofs of concept, pilots, and production deployments

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience and advanced knowledge of middleware technologies • Enterprise web or middleware development project experience with application integration • Knowledge and some experience in Red Hat OpenShift • Hands-on experience using cloud as a development environment • Knowledge of JEE and middleware technology • Strong technical skills designing and implementing JEE solutions • Thorough experience with at least one major middleware solution, preferably Red Hat JBoss Middleware; Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, WebMethods, or Tibco also considered • Hands-on application development experience using an Agile approach • Hands-on experience building pipelines and CI/CD • Knowledge of DevOps and microservices • Enterprise Java development skills are an advantage • Knowledge of Hibernate and Tomcat is an advantage • Hands-on experience with AMQ and API management such as 3scale • Ability and desire to learn new technologies independently and apply new concepts to problems • Good-to-have experience or knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat 3Scale, Red Hat AMQ, or Red Hat AMQ Streams (Kafka) • Experience with Argo CD, Tekton Pipelines, Helm, or Jenkins • Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring • Experience with JavaScript, Golang, Python, or shell scripting
