📋 Description
• Assess de novo submissions and manuscript transfers from across The Lancet journals to select high-quality journal content • Identify experts to act as peer reviewers • Write editorials • Commission content to build the journal’s profile and handle special project content • Develop and maintain relationships with the regional health community to solicit research and thought leadership • Attend conferences and events to represent the journal, identify topics and authors, and stay current with regional health developments • Promote the journal and its content through social media and other communication channels • Contribute to multimedia activities, including journal podcasts • Suggest and help develop initiatives for the journal’s future growth and enhancement • Collaborate with fellow Senior Editors and the Editor-in-Chief on editorial strategy
🎯 Requirements
• Research experience in a relevant field or experience in the wider development community • Editorial experience and understanding of the journal publishing process are advantageous but not required • First-class critical analysis skills • Genuine commitment to equity in health and health care • Can-do attitude • Ability to collaborate with teams and deliver projects and initiatives on time • Ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and the community • Comfortable working in diverse, global environments and connecting with colleagues at all organizational levels • Alignment with The Lancet’s values
