β’ Recording and reconciling credit card transactions, ensuring all receipts are submitted and charges are correctly coded β’ Supporting month-end close processes to ensure transactions are entered accurately and on time β’ Assisting the finance team in enforcing RP's expense policies β’ Assisting with the annual audit by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules β’ Maintaining accurate and organized financial records, including W-9s, W-8BENs, invoices, and other supporting documentation β’ Maintaining confidentiality of Rethink Priorities financial records and activity β’ Managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including recording bills, contractor invoices, and external payment requests in Sage Intacct accurately and in a timely manner β’ Recording US and UK payroll entries and staff expense reimbursements, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger β’ Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations for month-end and year-end close; maintaining supporting schedules and processing assigned journal entries β’ Managing and overseeing day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities, ensuring timely vendor and contractor payments and accurate processing of deposits and expense reimbursements β’ Developing and maintaining spend analysis across departments and grants to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting β’ Serving as a responsive and knowledgeable point of contact for staff finance questions and requests, including payment inquiries, expense coding, and platform access β’ Reviewing and approving staff reimbursement requests including meal per diems β’ Supporting the development and maintenance of cost methodologies, including indirect rates and cost allocation approaches, and assisting with financial forecasting to inform budgeting and grant reporting β’ Collaborating with the Controller and finance team on strategic initiatives and process improvement projects as the organization grows β’ Creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the Finance and Operations team β’ Supporting the organization during periods of substantial org-wide growth and within the Finance department as needed.
β’ 1+ years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in a nonprofit setting β’ Solid understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals and basic accounting principles β’ Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets β’ Experience with multi-currency transactions or multi-entity structures is preferred β’ Experience with fund tracking is preferred β’ 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping and finance, ideally in a nonprofit setting β’ Strong understanding of nonprofit fund accounting and multi-entity accounting β’ Understanding of nonprofit accounting fundamentals, including GAAP compliance; knowledge of IFRS is a plus β’ Advanced knowledge and experience using Excel or Google Sheets β’ Proficient analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to resolve issues and develop new processes when necessary β’ Professional level of English language is required for all roles at Rethink Priorities.
