📋 Description

• Focus on utility planning and advisory projects • Conduct transmission system planning and analysis, including studies in load flow, stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transients (EMT) • Prepare new generator interconnection applications, including development of conceptual single line diagram and verification of compliance with reactive power requirements • Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies to provide guidance to clients, who are ISO Interconnection Customers

🎯 Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree • A minimum of 5 years relevant power systems engineering experience with utility or consultant • Experience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints and to identify transfer capability limits • Experience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, TARA • Experience in stability analysis to identify critical clearing times, identify voltage constraints and analyze power system damping (valued but not required) • Experience in electromagnetic transient analysis using PSCAD (valued but not required) • Experience in short circuit analysis and using software programs CAPE or ASPEN (valued but not required) • Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, such as: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ISO-NE (valued but not required) • Experience in Python, Java Script, or other scripting languages (valued but not required)
