Scalr is an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool designed to help developers collaborate, scale, and deploy secure IaC code efficiently. It allows users to build event-driven Terraform and OpenTofu pipelines using AWS EventBridge, and offers rapid infrastructure deployment. The platform supports various workflows, including OpenTofu & Terraform's CLI, VCS-driven, and module-based workspaces. Scalr emphasizes security and management with features like safe provider authentication, environment structuring without hardcoded credentials, and role-based access control. It integrates with tools such as Slack, Datadog, and OKTA, offering comprehensive visibility and reporting to scale operations effectively.

📋 Description

• Design and construct core backend systems, including a background-task worker, Flask API based on the JSON-API specification, and an Agent communicating with the server • Take ownership of features and deliver them from idea to production • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and performance challenges • Provide customer support and participate in troubleshooting efforts • Develop the remote state and operations backend for Terraform/OpenTofu • Develop APIs for the Infrastructure as Code platform • Integrate third-party services including VCS, online payments, and cloud computing • Implement coding, testing, and deployment best practices • Participate in code reviews and foster collaboration and continuous improvement • Research third-party service APIs, Terraform behavior, and internal service design • Modernize legacy approaches

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on, product-focused experience owning backend systems in production, from design through deployment and ongoing optimization using Python • Experience with concurrency and parallelism, including threading, multiprocessing, gevent, or asyncio • Backend web development experience • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns • Relational database design and query optimization • DevOps experience with Terraform, Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, or similar is a plus • Knowledge of Linux systems is a plus • Knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, sockets, HTTP/HTTPS is a plus • Experience with Go is a plus • Full-stack web development experience with ReactJS is a plus
