📋 Description

• Set direction and provide technical leadership across Shippit’s AWS cloud platform • Work with software engineers, data engineers, and product teams to simplify and scale technology • Build and operate the internal platform as a service • Ensure platform and infrastructure requirements are met to deliver customer outcomes • Drive adoption and simplification of technology choices • Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions for the AWS platform • Contribute to ADRs and RFCs for the cloud platform • Act as a roaming solutions architect for teams building solutions on the platform • Promote best practices, continuous improvement, technical excellence, and bias for action • Provide expertise for production support, root cause analysis, and post-mortems • Improve reliability, performance, security, and developer experience while delivering business value

🎯 Requirements

• Experience owning core AWS services (VPC, EC2, IAM) in production • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation • Experience delivering a containerised platform in production on a public cloud • Working knowledge of GitOps tooling such as Argo CD or Flux CD • Ability to implement and own a declarative deployment workflow • Proven experience managing a multi-account AWS environment • Demonstrable experience delivering cloud-native architecture balancing availability, reliability, security, and cost efficiency • Familiarity with observability stacks such as ELK and LGTM • Experience with Node.js, Golang, or Ruby • Comfort working in a polyglot programming environment aided by LLM-assisted tools • Experience in platform engineering in a highly regulated industry is highly desirable • Prior experience in an application or software development role is highly desirable
