📋 Description

• Design and build robust backend services and APIs in Java for a multi-tenant SaaS platform • Ship product features end-to-end and work directly with product and customers on what to build • Improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of owned services and carry them to production on AWS/Kubernetes • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and observability systems • Improve systems supporting agentic development, including CI feedback, development environments, and safety guardrails • Drive architectural decisions covering service design and platform evolution • Own the full path from backend service to production across Soda Cloud’s Java services and AWS/Kubernetes infrastructure

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building backend software at a product company • Strong Java skills including APIs, async processing, concurrency, and performance tuning • Solid SQL in a backend context, including schema design, query optimization, and production migrations • Architectural judgment regarding API and service design, data flow, query patterns, latency, and failure modes • Production experience running services on Kubernetes and AWS, including EKS, IAM, networking, RDS, and S3 • Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux, Terraform or Pulumi, and scripting • Observability experience with metrics, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry • Experience shipping production code with AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor • Ability to work independently in a distributed, asynchronous team across 12+ countries • Fluent English • Good to have: multi-tenant SaaS at scale and high-growth startup experience • Good to have: Python • Good to have: regulated-environment experience, including ISO27001 or SOC2 • Good to have: experience building agentic workflows into products • Good to have: data quality, data management, data observability, or ML monitoring industry experience
