📋 Description

• Design and implement REST APIs and event-driven services • Integrate with external partners and internal domains • Secure owned services through access control, secrets management, input validation, and secure API design • Maintain and upgrade existing services, including library and version upgrades and vulnerability remediation • Ensure quality through unit and integration testing and code reviews • Set up and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines • Diagnose issues methodically and prioritize real risks • Work autonomously within a distributed, product-focused platform team building services for a B2B2C wellbeing and benefits platform

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of overall backend experience • 3+ years building production services with Node.js and strict TypeScript • Solid hands-on experience with AWS serverless, including Lambda, API Gateway, and Step Functions • Ability to secure services using least-privilege IAM, secrets management, input validation and sanitization, parameterized queries, and secure API design • Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, transactions, and concurrency behavior • Practical DynamoDB or equivalent NoSQL experience, including access-pattern modeling and indexing • Experience designing event-driven services using queues/topics, idempotency, retries, and dead-letter handling • Proven REST API design and implementation skills, including versioning, error handling, and service contracts • Unit and integration testing experience and active participation in code reviews • Experience maintaining automated GitHub Actions pipelines, dependency upgrades, and vulnerability checks • Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously • English B2+ proficiency • Nice-to-have: Terraform or SST, Python, GCP, NestJS, Redis, AI coding agents, and fintech/payments/payroll/tax and benefits domain knowledge
